Alone again
If you were with us this time last year, you’ll remember that we – and a lot of our customers – got quite heavily involved in PCG‘s National Freelancers Day (NFD).
If you weren’t, and you’re not sure what we’re talking about, articles such as this and this, as well as this splendid infographic were all part of our support.
To recap, NFD is a once-a-year opportunity to highlight and celebrate the massive contribution freelancers make to our national economy. And a good thing too, we say.
This year’s extravaganza kicks off in just under two weeks, on 21 November 2012, with the main NFD event held at the RSA (Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce) in central London. It’s a great opportunity to mix with like-minded people, take in keynote speeches from the likes of Alastair Campbell (brace yourself), watch films about and by freelancers and listen in to incisive debates between leading lights of business and politics.
Fans of 80s current affairs programmes and Radio 4′s Desert Island Discs will no doubt be delighted that this year’s host is, once again, Sue Lawley.
Competition time
Most of all, as a modern freelancer, this year’s event is bound to have something to interest you. It is, after all, for people exactly like you.
If you’d like to know what’s on offer, a good place to start is the NFD website. Everything you need to know about the what, when and where is there.
Whether it’s the personalities, the films, the useful information or the fun stuff that catches your eye, you could do worse than setting aside a day to soak it all up.
If you can’t make it to London but don’t want to miss out, stay with us. In the run-up to the event we’ll be posting videos from interesting (and usually for members only) educational and training webinars, as well as films and the quiz from this year’s event.
And of course we have a competition for you.
If you fancy winning two tickets to the event AND a year’s subscription to Freelancing Matters magazine, here’s what you have to do.
Simply complete the following sentence:
I love freelancing because …
When you’re done, tweet your answer to us (@PolicyBee) using the hashtag #NFD2012, post it on our Facebook page or email it to vicky.pont@policybee.co.uk
The winner will be the one we like the most. Simple!
So we’ve got time to post the winner their tickets, we need all entries by 4pm on Friday 16 November 2012. You can enter as many times as you like.
Good luck.
